Private House, Magheralin

This family home comprises of 2 linear blocks designed to reflect Traditional Ulster Rural Buildings in form and proportion.

These blocks are linked by a low glazed entrance hall, which provides the main entry to the house but also with large expanse of glazing overlooks the private garden space. Family living, kitchen and dining open plan space with bedrooms over have been located in the longer 2 storey block.

The smaller single storey block provides a more formal living space with guest bedroom and en suite. The 2 blocks have been carefully angled to take full advantage of sunlight over the full day. The narrow plan with larger windows along the south side allows sunlight to penetrate into the rooms with only minimal windows provided on the north side.

This careful consideration of orientation allows for sustainable living and lower energy costs. Under floor heating serviced from a Ground Source Heat Pump has been included.
